Chariots of Fire, 16 September 2012

Get your running shoes on! Would you, or your friends, family or colleagues be prepared to make up a team for Chariots of Fire 2012? Cam Sight is delighted to have been chosen as one of the benefiting charities from this years’ Chariots of Fire Relay to be held on Sunday 16th September.

Chariots of Fire is a relay race organised to raise money for local charities.  Local firms, businesses and individuals enter teams to run in relay through the historical city and along The Backs, ending at Queens Green.  The event has the potential to raise in the region of £50,000 – £70,000. This year we will be sharing the event with local charity Cambridge Past Present and Future who champion green spaces and sustainable development in Cambridge and the surrounding area.

This is where we need your support.

To enter, all teams need to have six runners who must be 16 years of age and over.  Each runner will follow a picturesque route of 1.7 miles through some of Cambridge’s historic city centre and colleges, over the Cam, along The Backs before passing the baton onto the next runner at Queens Gate.  The registration fee is £22.50 per person or £135 per team.  Each team is expected to raise as much money as possible to be shared equally between the benefiting charities.

We would be so delighted if you feel you would like to join us in raising a significant amount of money towards our Centenary Appeal.   To enter a team please go to the Chariots of Fire website www.chariots-of-fire.co.uk which gives all the information you need.

We shall keep you all updated on our website and facebook pages and the Cambridge News will also be running regular features in the coming months.

Thank you so much for your support!
