2012 is a wonderful opportunity to launch our Appeal to refurbish Cam Sight’s building and build a flagship Technology Centre.
Developing technologies transform lives of people with sight loss. But many people are not aware what is available, how it can help or how they might use it. We want to support every generation to live independently with technology and not be reliant on others to do everyday things.
We would like a building that is designed for visually impaired people. We will build an inspiring and welcoming reception at the front of the building and a fully equipped demonstration area for equipment and technology beyond. There will be one-to-one counselling and technology training rooms and a large meeting area at the back of the building.
We are very lucky to own our building and we believe these plans will make the best possible and cost effective use of the building we have.
The total cost of the refurbishment will be £500,000. This is a large sum but donations mean we have already made a significant start. Every donation large and small will help us achieve our goal.
If you are interested finding out more about our plans for the building or wish to make a donation, please contact us.
The appeal is to raise money to carry out much needed property improvements at our Green End Road location. Any excess funds raised may be used for other purposes to meet the charity’s objectives.
