Community Support

Cam Sight’s Community Team can work with you and your family at home.

We listen to your concerns and offer practical help with:

•    Equipment
•    Transport
•    Benefit claims
•    Employment
•    Leisure, religious or educational activities
•    Writing letters of support on your behalf

People can feel isolated because they cannot see. We are here to help you get in touch with others, link with local networks and support you in any way we can. Please call us on 01223 420 033 or email us if you would like to talk to a member of our Community Team.

Emotional support

You may have been living with sight loss for some time or it could be a new experience. You may be worried about how you will cope. It can be helpful to talk through feelings and options with someone outside the circle of family and friends.

We offer space and time to talk in confidence.

“I was devastated about my sight loss but came to Cam Sight and realised there was hope.  The most helpful aspect was being able to share concerns and anxieties with people that understood.  I definitely feel emotionally stronger – I’ve stopped crying”.

Please call us on 01223 420 033 or email us if you are worried or distressed about losing your sight.
