The Friends of Cam Sight are delighted to present an evening with Sir Colin Humphreys who will be giving a talk on Graphene: the new wonder material: but will it change the world?

The evening talk will be held on Tuesday 29th October 7:30pm at the Department of Materials Science and Metallurgy, Cambridge.

Small flakes of Graphene, a single layer of Carbon atoms, were isolated from graphite (the "lead" in pencils) in 2004 and found to have amazing properties.  More conductive than copper, stronger than steel, flexible and transparent.  It was called the "wonder material".  However, we will explore why the predicted wonder electronic products have yet to be manufactured.

An interesting, informative and thought provoking topic, which we hope you will enjoy!

The suggested donation is £15 per person, which includes wine and canapes.

Places are booked via Cam Sight's website. Please note that no paper tickets will be sent out but you will receive a confirmation email once your donation has been processed.
