We are delighted to announce AstraZeneca and its global biologics research and development arm, MedImmune, have chosen Cam Sight as their 2019 Cambridge Charity of the Year!

Cam Sight was chosen from a number of charities nominated by staff from both AstraZeneca and MedImmune along with direct applications from charities, and complements the companies’ community focus on science, health and healthcare.

Sabine Jaccaud, Director of Communications, Cambridge at AstraZeneca, said: “We are delighted that Cambridge-based colleagues nominated and selected Cam Sight as our 2019 Cambridge Charity of the Year. Our Charity of the Year partnership is an initiative that has become one of the principal ways that we connect with our local community. Over the next year, we hope to raise internal awareness of the charity along with providing our employees the opportunity to get involved with the programme, either directly through volunteering or by fundraising to support the work of Cam Sight.”

AstraZeneca and MedImmune will be working with Cam Sight throughout 2019 on fundraising activities, awareness talks and mentoring opportunities.

Flora Raffai, Chief Executive, Cam Sight said: “We are thrilled to have been selected as AstraZeneca and MedImmune’s Charity of the Year. We are looking forward to working closely with their team over 2019. Their support and fundraising efforts will have a significant impact on Cam Sight, and our ability to help local people with low vision and blindness, live the lives they choose.”
