We are currently seeking an Information and Administrative Officer to cover maternity leave. The post holder will be part of the Communications and Operations Team as we look to provide a first class information service, drive up our social media engagement and handle essential administration involved in supporting Cam Sight.

The Role:

The Information and Administrative Officer is a temporary term (maternity cover), 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday role with a salary of £22,500 per annum. The role is based at our Cambridge Centre, 167 Green End Road, Cambridge, CB4 1RW.

This job might be for you if:

You have a good level of education including good GCSEs in English and Maths. You have a welcoming personality, a confident phone manner and a great way with people as you will be the first point of contact to provide information and advice over the phone and via email. You have a knowledge of website content management and can ensure our online Information Hub is current, update the content, news and events of the charity on Cam Sight’s website.

You are familiar with social media and how it works, have experience in creating content, the ability to adapt content for different audiences ensuring content is accessible for people living with sightloss and demonstrable abilities pertaining to our main social media platforms: Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.

You enjoy managing your own workload, are accurate and have great attention to detail. You have experience of administration in an organisational context, as well as some administrative experience in a team environment, ideally including database work and health and safety. You have excellent organisational skills, the ability to multi-task and a proficient working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Essential Criteria:

Good verbal and written communication skills
Computer literacy and proficient working knowledge of Microsoft Office
Empathy and patience
Experience working in a person centred environment

Desirable Criteria:

Experience of working with social and digital media
Understanding of the impact of sight loss and issues around visual impairment
Knowledge of information and advice for people with visual impairments, or the ability to learn with training.
