The Role

This role is part of our vision for the future; a decentralised and agile service delivery model, providing diverse and person-centred services to people with visual impairments.

As a mobile outreach lead you will be responsible for helping to develop and pilot our new mobile unit, which will use customized outfitted vehicles to bring information, technology, and services into communities across Cambridgeshire.

You will work with our outreach workers and volunteers at their support group meetings or home visits, attend pop-up public and specialist events to raise awareness of Cam Sight’s work and develop a strong network of contacts within communities.

Essential Criteria

Good verbal communication skills
Empathy and patience
The ability to work under self-direction, whilst still being a team player
Experience working in a person centred or non-profit environment
Computer literacy and technical savvy
Full driving license

Desirable Criteria

Experience/understanding of the impact of sight loss and issues around visual impairment
Knowledge of assistive equipment and technology for people with visual impairments, or the ability to learn about these devices quickly with training.
Experience in an outreach role
