News and events News Double Your Donation: Small Charity Week Match Funding As part of the Big Give's Small Charity Week, our match funding campaign is now live and helping us raise vital funds for the vans that keep our Equipment & Accessibility Service on the road. If you haven't come across it before, this service provides free, one-to-one support for people with sight loss across Cambridgeshire, delivered either at home or in local communities. Through personalised advice and hands-on demonstrations, we help people access equipment such as magnifiers, lighting, kitchen aids and accessible technology, supporting greater independence and confidence. Why this matters Many people living with sight loss face significant barriers to everyday life. Research shows that four in ten blind or visually impaired people are unable to make the journeys they need or want to make, often due to challenges with transport, navigation, or access to information. In rural areas of Cambridgeshire, these challenges can be even greater, with limited public transport and the high cost of alternatives leading to increased isolation. How your support helps Through our mobile service (our vans), CamSight brings practical solutions directly to people who need them most. This includes: Demonstrating equipment such as magnifiers, talking devices and specialist lighting Providing training on accessibility features for phones, tablets and computers Offering guidance on sourcing essential equipment through loans or purchases Helping people stay connected, independent and engaged with their communities By supporting this campaign, you will help us reach more people and reduce the impact of isolation for people living with sight loss. Double your impact Throughout Small Charity Week (22nd - 28th June), all donations made direct to the campaign page will be match funded by People’s Postcode Trust, meaning every pound donated during the campaign can have twice the impact.
