Low vision and blindness can turn a person’s life upside down. For many, it’s an experience that leaves them feeling frightened, isolated and like they are defined by their sight loss.

This is a fantastic opportunity to support the development of services that are making a positive change in vulnerable people’s lives, from providing them with practical and emotional support to giving them access to equipment that will make everyday tasks easier.

So, if you want to use your expertise to join our dedicated team, drive support for our important work and deliver our positive message, we want to hear from you.

The Role

As a Community Awareness Lead, you will support the Fenland Team to deliver a variety of support services, specifically our Low Vision Centre and Volunteer Service.

You will also work as part of our Promotion and Fundraising Teams and deliver a range of promotional and fundraising talks, presentations and media interviews to raise awareness of our work and the incredible people we support.

Reporting to the Fenland Manager, your role will also involve:

- Contributing to decision-making within the Fenland Team
- Supporting fundraising activity
- Monitoring and evaluating services with the Fenland Manager
- Developing and delivering an effective volunteer recruitment strategy

About You

To join us as a Community Awareness Lead, you will need:

- Experience in a supervisory role in the delivery of support services, ideally within healthcare or social care
- Experience of service development and evaluation
- Experience of delivering talks and presentations
